Description: So every 12 years cpo gives us a multiple-disc Goetz set (piano chamber music in 1990 and symphony and concertos in 2002)! The pianist here edited everything recorded here for publication, in one case using a photocopy of the manuscript since nothing else existed. Many are early practise pieces and the Sonatines are teaching works. The two major items are the 15-minute Waldmärchen (1863), a fully-fledged Romantic tone poem inspired by Goetz getting caught in a thunderstorm while walking in the woods with large doses of Schumann and Liszt, and the 33-minute suite of Löse Blätter, a very Schumannesque series of nature pictures and subjective emotional states. 2 CDs. Christof Keymer (piano).
