Description: This year's winner for "Most Bizarre and Senseless Coupling" brings us two violin concertos by jazz and pop-crossover composer pianist Loussier, known for his decades of participation in the Play Bach Trio which combined Bach and jazz improvisation, and the early sonata by Paderewski of which this is the only budget-priced recording available. If you're into Loussier's brand of attractive crossover, both concertos are World Premiere Recordings. If not the 27-minute Paderewski is still worth the price. Piotr Iwicki (percussion), Polish Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra; Adam Kostecki (violin, conductor), Gunther Hauer (piano - Paderewski).
