Description: Composed in the period 1776-78, the two symphonies here are generally cheerful and relaxed, notable especially for the writing for the winds, Rosetti’s specialty. The concerto, one of only four for the piano among the composer’s 76 concertos, is really striking for the bleakness and gloom of its G minor Adagio which sticks out like a tragic scena between its bright and sparkling outer movements. Research shows that only the E flat symphony seems to have been recorded before (in 1997 on RBM). Nataša Veljković (piano), Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim; Johannes Moesus.
