Description: These symphonies by the remarkable Beck have not appeared before on disc as Naxos forges ahead beyond what cpo did for this composer. Dating from 1760, these are on a smaller scale than the ones to come, using only strings (except for a pair of horns in the outer movements of two) but are still quite similar stylistically to their later, so forward-looking brethren.
