Description: Collectors willing to pay $30 for 38 minutes of unusual repertoire will find a nine-and-a-half minute piano sonata from 1978 whose idiom Scriabin would have recognized and a rather fascinating half-hour long concerto form 1973 which is rather more Bartókian than anything else - no towering shadow of Shostakovich here - where the percussionist has perhaps more to do than either of the other soloists. Grigory Sokolov (piano), Mikhail Vaiman (violin), Nikolai Moskalenko (percussion), Leningrad State Philharmonic Society Chamber Orchestra; Alexander Dmitriyev.
