Description: Cello and guitar are a rare combination explained here by the fact that this Danish composer was not allowed to study the guitar at conservatory and took up the cello instead. Though this is a Spanish label and the guitar is considered by many as a “Spanish” instrument, J.P.E. Hartmann was Degen’s model and there are some Nordic flavors in the longest piece here, Op. 19’s Among the Mountains”; the rest are of the generically salon type. Michael Kevin Jones (cello), Agustin Maruri (guitar).
