Description: Frühling’s sunny and relaxed, optimistic and youthful-sounding trio receives its third recording. Berger’s 1903 trio was written for Richard Mühlfeld, the same clarinettist for whom Brahms wrote his late trios and as a similar autumnal lyricism in most of its four movements while ending with a fugal finale (a form much in evidence in his slightly earlier string trio (see 08N054 of last August). Trio Vidas.
