Description: This Catalonian guitarist-composer moved to Paris in 1852 and spent the rest of his life there (except for his European concert tours) and became good friends with, among others, the painter Manet and Gounod, with whom he co-composed the Passacaille on this disc. The songs and guitar pieces are pushing the border-line of salon music, tending toward the mélodie in the songs and to the character piece in the instrumental works. French-Catalan texts. Maria Teresa Garrigosa (soprano), Miguel Javaloy (guitar), Patrycja Bronisz (violin).
