Description: Here’s a fascinating excavation: Born in Rockford, Illinois to an Irish father, Hennessy studied at Oxford and in Stuttgart and settled in Paris in 1903. These quartets - between 14 and 18 minutes in length and written during the period 1912-28 - have two major influences: Irish (and Breton) folk music and French Impresssionism.
