Description: Sacred choral music by five Flemish and five Polish composers, almost equally divided between late Romantic and modern, half with organ, half without, although, as is fitting given the title of this long, ongoing series, the Flems get 42 of the disc’s 76 minutes. Everything is tonal with, perhaps, slightly more modern techniques used in the 20 minute triptych of van der Roost’s Contemplations (which are in English, setting one Donne and two anonymous sacred texts). Texts in original languages. Liliana Pociecha (soprano), Szczepan Kosior (tenor), Andrzej Zawisza, Marcin Wolak (baritone), Andrzej Bialko (organ), Polish Radio Choir, Krakow; Herman Engels.
