Description: One of the few clarinettists to make a living as a soloist in the early 20th century, Cahuzac also wrote a few pieces for his own use. Three of the items here (the Concertino, from Heinrich Baermann, and the two Sonates, from Etienne Gebauer) are arrangments; the Cahuzac himself can be heard in his three delightful works based on the folk music of his native Langedoc region. Philippe Cuper (clarinet), Philippe Olivier Devaux (second clarinet), Christine Lagniel (piano), Les virtuoses de l’Opéra de Paris.
