Description: This Catalonian composer, inspired by the legacy Bottesini left in Barcelona (he was director of the Teatro Liceu from 1836-67), left a significant trove of compositions for the double bass inspired by Spanish and Catalonian music (the reedy oboe-like sounds of the wind instrument used in the cobla seem to have inspired his characteristic high double bass writing).
