Description: We can pass over the duo piano versions of Printemps and L'enfant prodigue since we just offered their original Prix de Rome versions on the Glossa label 14 months ago (03L006). The real fascinating stuff is much earlier: the symphony (1880-81, published 1933) was never orchestrated and is in full-blown Romantic style; the overture Diane (1881, discovered 100 years later in the Bibliothèque Nationale) has hints of the mature style to come; Triomphe (1882, publ. 1918) and Divertissement (1884) are the other sizeable pieces, again hinting slightly at the Impressionism to come. Adriennne Soós and Ivo Haag Piano Duo.
