Description: This new release has the only available CD recording of the 20-minute suite from Martin's opera which premiered in 1956. Consisting of an overture, two of Prospero's fifth-act arias and closing with his monologue to the audience in front of the curtain, this music was long associated with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau who sang the role both in the opera and in the suite's 1961 premiere.
