Description: Although Setaccioli claimed to find Debussy's music lacking in the important key centers and other things which were essential to musical "sense", his 1921 sonata is a beautiful integration of Romanticism and Impressionism while Castelnuovo-Tedesco also has truck with Impressionist elements (although fewer of them) in his 1945 sonata (look for luscious film-music material in its slow movement. Rota's little, 13-minute sonata of the same year never strays far from simple, beguiling charm. Nicolas del Grazia (clarinet), Chris Lysack (piano).
