Description: We offered a disc of this composer’s salon piano pieces in January last year but these two sonatas are meatier stuff, each in four movements and each around a half-hour long. Dating from 1852 and 1881, they are richly-crafted works for professional performers situated in the most fecund period of high European Romanticism. Anna Parkita (piano).
