Description: An amateur composer, Flackton published his viola sonatas in 1770. Although they are very old-fashioned for the period (really, they're late baroque in style), they show considerable expressive power and individuality of utterance and, of course, they're extremely rare examples of music from the period for the viola (or, as Flackton called it, the "tenor violin"). Kathryn Steely (viola), Vincent de Vries (harpsichord), Adrenne Steely (cello).
