Description: A real feast for lovers of the Schumann-Brahms axis of German Romanticism. Volkmann (1855) and Gernsheim (1907) write tightly unified, single-movement pieces of less than 15 minutes length while Dietrich (1876) provides a traditional three-movement work of 23 minutes.
