Description: Dauprat’s 1817 quintet may not be as melodically appealing as the well-known work by Reicha (1828) but it’s the work of a horn player and professor of horn at the Paris Conservatoire - half an hour long in four movements, like Reicha’s - so it makes varied demands on the soloist, as noted in the extensive and excellent booklet notes. Alessandro Denabian (natural horn), Quartetto Delfico.
