Description: Maader was director of the Jasna Góra chapel from 1784-1798 and his mass and two arias are somewhere between the simple, country-style of Perneckher (see left) and the modest-sized masses of Haydn. Pairs of horns and a concertante organ are used in the mass where the latter is often treated soloistically and is never used as a mere bass instrument. Gottschalk took over the chapel in 1800 and his vespers and Salve Reginas are in a similar conservative Classical form with plenty of emphasis on melody. Capella Claromontana; Jan Tomasz Adamus.
