Description: A student of Viotti and an inspiration to the young Paganini, this son of a Polish-French father was one of the most eminent violinists of his time. His compositions were most designed for his own performance and, thus, to dazzle the audience, as in the opera 4 and 11 recorded here which use variations on songs and well-known opera arias as technical display vehicles (the work for solo piano, dedicated to the king of Saxony, is identical in type). However, the 28-minute concerto from 1810 is a well-behaved (i.e. musical but not showy) model of its type - the late Classical violin concerto in the genre created by Viotti and Rode. Pawel Wajrak (violin), Angelina Kierońska (second violin), Karolina Stasiowska (viola), Anna Podkościelna-Cyz (cello), Ewelina Panocha (piano), Tarnów Chamber Orchestra; Piotr Wajrak.
