Description: Martinu's trios are still rather rarely recorded. The first is brittle and neo-classical, befitting its 1930 composition date during Martinu's Parisian years while the other two, both dating from 1951, are in the more ambitious style of his six symphonies. Equally rare are 1939's Bergerettes, a modest, lyrical suite whose Czech title - Pastorely - indicates their generally contemplative nature. Arbor Piano Trio.
