Description: This series of "Forgotten Treasures", offering Classical and Romantic works on period instruments, continues with three more releases. Fischer's greatest success came during his time in London where he wrote nine oboe concertos, the first of which was the C major work here, premiered in 1768 at one of the famous Abel-J.C. Bach concerts. Ahead of his time as an oboist, student of the famous Italian oboist/composer Carlo Besozzi, Fischer was also the oboist for whom J.C. Bach wrote his Op. 11 quintets for flute, oboe and strings. Michael Niesemann (oboe), Kölner Akademie; Michael Alexander Willens.
