SALVATORE LANZETTI (c.1710-c.1780): 6 Solos (Sonatas) after an Easy and Elegant Taste for Cello and Continuo.
Catalogue Number: 01I025
Reference: HCD 32422
Description: One of the first cello virtuosos, Lanzetti left a group of sonatas which demand a superlative technique. These Solos, however, which appeared in London in 1760, are in a galant style, full of melody (positively Handelian largos) and wit (a hunt, a peasant dance) with lesser demands on the virtuosity of the performer. Balázs Máté (baroque cello), Igor Davidovics (theorbo, archlute, guitar), Jeremy Joseph (harpsichord, organ), Dénes Karasszon (baroque cello).
